Vaughn Solo: The Final Edition is a reconstructed version of Boonie Mayfield’s Vaughn Solo era, combining material from Vaughn Solo: 1st Edition and Vaughn Solo II: The Final Level into one album. After the original 1st Edition was removed from streaming because of sample issues, Boonie stripped away the collaborations, removed the sampled songs, added previously unreleased material from the same period, and resequenced the remaining songs into a new narrative.

Nearly all of the album was written after Audiopium, during a period of growing disappointment, discouragement and disillusionment with fans, music peers, the industry and music itself. The songs move between humor, anger, self-doubt, faith, betrayal and frustration with being continually defined by Boonie’s earlier beatmaking identity.

By the end of the Vaughn Solo period, Boonie stepped away from music for roughly three years and shifted his focus toward acting, filmmaking and visual work. In that sense, The Final Edition captures both the end of one creative chapter and the beginning of the next.
